MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree in Health Education, Emergency Medical Care, Paramedic, Radiology, Dietetics/Nutrition, Nuclear Medicine, or Athletic Training
- Must have 18 total semester hours in the following areas: Curriculum, Instructional Methods, Literacy, Introduction to Exceptional Children, Classroom Management, Educational Technology OR 1 year of successful teaching.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Health Sciences Teacher is responsible for delivering the health sciences curriculum that is a part of the Career and Technical Education Program. The Health Sciences Teacher will also:
- Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all students while leading the students to CNA certification.
- Devise lesson plans, assignments, and other instructional materials and methods
- Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students in the classroom
- Create, monitor, and sustain a disciplined classroom culture of high academic and behavioral standards
- Provide structure in the classroom by developing and reinforcing school-wide rules and expectations
- Other duties as assigned
