Tyrrell County Schools is always accepting applications from dedicated individuals interested in serving as substitute teachers. Our substitutes play an essential role in maintaining consistent student learning when regular teachers are unavailable.
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible to substitute teach in Tyrrell County Schools, applicants must meet one of the following:
Option 1: Current Teaching License (any state)

Next Steps
Once all application steps and eligibility requirements have been completed, candidates will be submitted to the Tyrrell County Board of Education for approval. If approved, you will receive instructions for completing the required employment paperwork to be entered into our payroll system. Please note that all documentation, including a valid NC Health Certificate, must be received by the Human Resources Department before you can begin working as a substitute for Tyrrell County Schools.
