Overview:
The [Boys/Girls] Basketball Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading practices and games to help middle school athletes develop skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude. Teach basketball fundamentals, rules, and team play suited to middle school skill levels.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct regular practices.

• Teach fundamental basketball skills, strategies, and rules.

• Promote teamwork, respect, and good sportsmanship.

• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and travel.

• Communicate with athletic director, school administration, players, and families.

• Ensure player safety through proper instruction and monitoring.

• Manage equipment and uniforms as assigned.

• Follow all school district and athletics program policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience playing or coaching basketball preferred.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.

• Commitment to supporting students both on and off the court.

• Must meet school district coaching eligibility requirements.
